Reading program stopped the summer slide

WOMEN OF TOMORROW
Mentor & Scholarship Program – 2013 Award – $100,000

Mentored over 200 at-risk girls in South Palm Beach County
Had a 93% high school graduation rate. (average grad rate in PBC is %)
Expanded Mentor program into all 10 South PBC public high schools
Served 93% more at-risk girls than the prior year
Attracted 50% more new mentors for program

EQUINE-ASSISTED THERAPIES
Equine Therapy for Special Needs Children – 2013 Award – $100,000

Purchased therapy horse, named Gus, increased capacity for services
Provided Equine Therapy to 118 full time and 25 summer clients
Expanded program to help Wounded Warriors suffering from PTSD and Wayside House women recovering from addiction.
Participant with Autism Spectral Disorder went from a D Student to the Honor Roll.
5 year old student who could not walk or stand without a walker can now walk with minimal assistance.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS (Formerly Parent Child Center)
Trauma Team – 2012 Award – $100,000

Established a Trauma Team to assist Children removed from the home due to neglect or abuse.
107 children entering or reentering the child welfare system or who are homeless received Trauma Team trauma-informed therapy.
83% of children were seen for crisis support and a mental health assessment within 48 hours of removal.
The program established with Impact dollars received additional $600,000 grant & became a model for DCF in the State of Florida.

URBAN LEAGUE OF PALM BEACH
Produce 4U – 2012 Award – $12,000

Purchased a box truck to provide meals to those in need
Delivered toys to disadvantaged children at the holidays
Created a pilot program to give Seniors access to fruits & vegetables.
