How We Work
Impact 100 Palm Beach County began in 2011. We are a progressive leader in women’s philanthropy, committed to strengthening our community through the collective resources of our members by awarding high-impact grants in five focus areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Family and Health & Wellness.
Grant applications are accepted each fall, and members can choose to serve on a grant review committee to choose finalists in each focus area.
We combine our members’ annual donations to give multiple high-impact grants of $100,000 each year to local nonprofits. Our membership requirements are simply to be female and to make a $1,050 donation each year, with $1,000 going to provide grants for the important work done by our grant recipients and $50 for administrative operations.
In April, our members gather at the Annual Meeting to vote on which worthy programs will receive a $100,000 grant from Impact 100 Palm Beach County. The grant applicant finalists in each focus area make a brief presentation to the membership, votes are cast (each member ranks each finalist) and the $100,000 Grand Award recipients are announced that evening. The remaining finalists also receive an equal distribution of the balance of funds.
We are volunteer-driven and our members use their diverse skills and talents to make this organization great. Members have many opportunities to participate in Impact 100 Palm Beach County. From coffees, to event planning, to committee memberships, to reviewing grant applications, we provide a variety of opportunities for members to learn more about local nonprofits and to become knowledgeable philanthropists. However, there is no required time-commitment. Some members simply like knowing their donation will be put to good use in the community.
